Mother: Yevgenia Timofeyevna Lobkovskaya a.k.a. Zhenya. Died on August 23 1942, aged twenty-nine.
Brother: Anton Shostakovich Yazycov. Died on August 23 1942, aged eight.
Her: Yesfir Shostakovna Yazycova (she prefers Esfir when writing in English just for the spelling). Nickname Fira.
Aunt: Yekaterina Timofeyevna Lobkovskaya a.k.a. Katya, Katusha. A year older than Zhenya, and they were very close. Raised Yesfir/Esfir during and after the Great Patriotic War. Schoolteacher, so taught her niece at home during the rebuilding of Stalingrad.
Uncle: Grigori Petrovich Kuznetsov a.k.a. Grisha. Soldier with the 62nd Army, met Katya on the eastern bank of the Volga. Married after the war, treated Yesfir as a daughter.
